Introduction

When industrial facilities need to upgrade critical cooling equipment, maintaining operational continuity is often just as important as improving performance. In this project, GOHL-KTK delivered a custom-engineered replacement cooling tower for Johnson Matthey Chemicals GmbH, providing higher cooling capacity while fitting perfectly into the existing installation footprint. The solution minimised on-site modifications and ensured a smooth transition to the new equipment.

Challenge

The existing cooling tower at the site needed to be replaced on a like-for-like basis – same footprint, no major structural modifications on site, and increased cooling capacity. The new unit was engineered based on the dimensions of the original equipment.

Solution

For the cooling tower replacement, Cofinair by GOHL-KTK supplied an open cooling tower of the type KAD 1/27-35, tailored to the spatial and technical requirements of the existing installation.
